Why This 'Teen Mom OG' Star Won't Be Having Any More Kids
One and done? More like four and done. "Teen Mom OG" star Mackenzie Edwards doesn't plan on having any more children call her "mom."
The 23-year-old MTV reality star hosted a Q&A on her Instagram page on Monday and revealed that she had a procedure that would prevent her from having any more pregnancies.
"I had my tubes tied a month ago, so it’s a no from me, dawg," she replied when a fan asked if she and 32-year-old husband Ryan Edwards want more children together, according to InTouch Weekly.
Mackenzie also went more into detail about the surgery when asked about it in subsequent posts.
"I didn’t think [recovery] was that bad!" she recalled and admitted that she wanted to have her "tubes tied" the same day their daughter Stella was born in January. "...I was trying to get it done [the same day I gave birth]. IDK what the timeline is, though! I’m sure each DR [doctor] has their own protocol," she added.
In addition to Stella, the couple also has a son, Jagger, together. They each have one child from previous relationships as well -- Ryan’s son Bentley with his ex and fellow "Teen Mom OG" star Maci Bookout, and Mackenzie's son Hudson from a previous relationship with her ex Zachary Stephens -- bringing the grand total of kids to four.
"It’s really hard [being a mom], but extremely rewarding," Mackenzie said.
"I think every momma just needs a minute every once and a while! But every time I get a 'minute' I debate on what to do, [and] then my minute is over," she joked.
"Teen Mom OG" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on MTV.
