Why Was Kim Kardashian A No-Show At Kylie Jenner's Sweet 16 Party?
Kim Kardashian did not attend her sister Kylie Jenner’s Sweet 16 birthday party over the weekend, instead traveling to Oklahoma for a funeral. The reality star went with boyfriend Kanye West and brought daughter North West to attend a funeral for the rapper’s grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., who passed away Aug. 10 at the age of 98.
The media expected that Kardashian would make her big reveal at Jenner’s birthday bash, after she had been in hiding since giving birth June 15. But a source confirmed to People, "That's why they weren't at [sister] Kylie's birthday. They brought North, too. Her first trip."
Jenner had a “Alice In Wonderland” themed bash at the AT&T Center in Los Angeles, with celebrities such as Willow, Naya Rivera, and rumored boyfriend Jaden Smith. She even had a surprise musical performance by Drake and Big Sean. The biggest surprise, however, may have been when Drake kissed her on the cheek and let her wear his gold chain.
Meanwhile, Kardashian finally came out of hiding, and made the big reveal last Wednesday alongside daughter North to greet West at a Los Angeles airport. West had been in Greece, presumably promoting his latest album, but reportedly wasn't enjoying himself.

“Everyone around him seemed to be enjoying the day, laughing, and joking but Kanye kept to himself,” a source told the Daily Mail. “He did’t seem to be having much fun.”
Maybe he was missing his family. When West greeted his girlfriend and daughter at the airport, he was seen smiling, which is rare for the 36-year-old rapper. The reality star also looked quite happy to see him.
Kardashian, who's usually dressed in the latest fashion, was more casually dressed, wearing black leggings, fringed boots, and an oversized denim shirt. She accessorized the outfit with a camouflage sweater tied around her waist. West also dressed down, in a blue hoodie, black leather pants, and sneakers. North, meanwhile, was covered in a blanket.
