Every year, Apple releases a slew of devices. These include new iPads, MacBooks, and most importantly, iPhones. All of these devices possess features that make them better than their predecessors and, depending on the person who will use them, better than offerings from other companies.

iPhones are the best smartphones anyone can buy right now, but why should excited consumers hold on to their money and choose not to buy an iPhone right now? Is it because Apple’s smartphones are inferior to those revealed by others, like Samsung’s recently unveiled Galaxy Note 10? Or is it because other companies have cheaper options?

The answer to the first question is really very simple: it’s because Apple will be unveiling newer models next month.

September Reveal

Apple tends to reveal newer iPhone models every September. Of course, the Cupertino tech company revealed other devices in different dates (like the iPhone SE and iPhone XR), but it started to reveal new iPhones in September beginning with the iPhone 5 in 2012.

Consumers who wait for Apple to reveal new iPhones will be given the opportunity to make better choices. This year’s iPhones are expected to come with upgraded camera setups, and one of them might come with the “Pro” name if a certain tipster is correct.

Aside from getting the chance to buy a new iPhone model, consumers might also get the chance to buy older models at lower prices. The Cupertino tech giant currently sells the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. It still sells the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 as well. These devices might be sold for a lower price once the newer models arrive -- which means buyers will have to spend less for them.

Updates

Older iPhones aren’t bad, and by waiting for new models to be revealed, it will be easier to buy them for a cheaper price. Avi Greengart, lead analyst for Techsponential, previously said Apple continues to provide support for older models, making them a viable option for those who are looking for lower-priced iPhones.

"They're the previous years' flagship models, now reduced in price,” Greengart said.

So, why shouldn’t people buy a new iPhone right now? It’s because there’ll be better options next month when Apple reveals its new iPhones.
