Why Zac Efron Broke Up With Vanessa Valladares After Nearly A Year Of Dating: Report

Zac Efron has ended his relationship with Vanessa Valladares after 10 months of dating, a report says.

The "High School Musical" star met the Australian model in June 2020, when she was working as a waitress at the Byron Bay General Store & Cafe. Efron had been spending time at the celebrity hotspot in Australia amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But he is now moving on from her.

"Zac broke things off with Vanessa recently. It just didn't feel right to him anymore," an unnamed source told People.

Even if they are no longer dating, Efron will remain in Australia because he loves the country. He has no plans of returning to live in the U.S. anytime soon, the insider said.

"Zac will still stay in Australia. He just loves Australia so much," the source added. "He is working and busy with several upcoming projects. He is happy, healthy and enjoying life."

Australian radio host Kyle Sandilands, who is friends with Efron, also confirmed their split earlier in the week, revealing that there was no major drama that led to the breakup.

"Well, it's not just The Daily Telegraph [reporting the breakup]," he said on his radio program "The Kyle and Jackie O Show." "I can also confirm after speaking with him yesterday. Because I heard the rumors. They've gone their separate ways. [There was] no drama. It's done. He's back to work."

News of Efron's split from Valladares came amid the release of a new clip of the "17 Again" star that sparked plastic surgery rumors.

Efron was among the celebrities who joined Bill Nye's "Earth Day Musical" special with Facebook Watch. However, some fans noticed some changes in his jaws and lips. Screenshots soon made their way to Twitter, where Efron became a trending topic.

"Zac Efron is naturally attractive, idk why he keeps messing up his face with cosmetic surgery," one tweeted. "He looks so different here much like handsome spongebob."

"whyyyyy did zac efron get plastic surgery!!! He was so beautiful b4," a second user wrote with a crying emoji.

"So, Zac Efron has admitted to having self image issues and now he’s gotten plastic surgery. And y’all are making fun of his new look... Why do y’all think he got surgery in the first place?? Y’all are miserable," another wrote.
