Wife of kidnapped magnate makes public call to abductors
The wife of a Greek magnate who was kidnapped called his kidnappers through Greek TV to contact her so she can pay them the ransom.
The 74 year old man, Pericles Panagopoulos who is the founder of Superfast Ferries, a ferry operator in Greece, was kidnapped six days ago. The kidnappers gave a 48-hour deadline for the ransom and haven't contacted her since then, Reuters reported.
She was afraid, the kidnappers had killed him since the deadline passed.
I was ready to satisfy their demands 24 hours ago. Since they haven't called and I have nothing more to give, I offer myself in exchange, Katerina Panagopoulis told Reuters.
