After soon-to-be "Bachelorette" Clare Crawley seemingly called out one of her potential suitors, Matt James, Bachelor nation was left wondering one question: Will he still appear on the show?

Although production on the ABC series has been put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, long-time host Chris Harrison provided some insight into the matter.

"As far as I know, [he'll still be a contestant]. I mean, I have not heard anything different," he revealed to Entertainment Tonight, after admitting that at this point, the decision on whether or not to participate on the show is "up to Matt."

"I mean, I don't know if he wants to do this after quarantine, who knows? But as far as I know, yes," Harrison added.

Questions surrounding James' status as a contestant on "The Bachelorette" began when Clare fired off tweets alluding that he and others were not interested in the show for the right reasons.

"If you are doing interviews and creating Cameo accounts before you are even on my season... you are in it for the wrong reasons... #dontwasteyourtime," she tweeted on April 25.

After fans ran wild with speculation, James -- who also happens to be friends with Tyler Cameron, the runner-up from Hannah Browns season -- hopped on Instagram to clarify that all of his Cameo profits were going towards charity.

In regards to that Harrison said, "First of all, everyone relax about the whole charity thing. Clare's not against charity, she's not against Matt doing charity. That's fantastic and Matt, good on you for doing something during this quarantine that's positive."

"But with that said, she's not specifically talking about Matt, she's just saying she's living under a certain set of guidelines and rules because she's the Bachelorette. She's kind of already in our family, and she's been respecting that," he continued.

"These guys aren't living under those guidelines, because they're not really part of our thing yet. And so they're out living their life, and they're kind of using having been picked to be on 'The Bachelorette' as a bit of a bouncing point... so I think she's just like, 'Look, I wish everybody would respect the rules. We all play by the same rules, so when you come in, there is a sense of innocence and naivety and we can actually got through this,'" Harrison explained.

"She's not mad at Matt, and it's all good. And she's not mad at anybody doing things for charity first of all, don't get mad at Clare," he assured.

As far as his opinions of the former footballer, Harrison said he "seems like a nice guy." "I think I did see something where he said, 'I'm really excited to meet Clare,' and I'm like, 'Super, that's all we want.'"

While James may still be in the running to win Clare's heart, some others may not be so lucky. In early April, Harrison revealed that because of the coronavirus casting has remained open.

"We are going to continue casting, so if you have someone... let us know," he told girlfriend and ET host Lauren Zima.

He revealed that though he doesn't know an exact date of when filming can commence, he knows that "The Bachelorette" will happen.

"I mean, we would be over halfway done [with filming by this point], and Clare might be narrowing down finding the love of her life," he said. "How exciting -- and I hate that that is stolen from her at this particular time."

"Maybe we do it all this summer, but if things don't go as planned with this virus and with this quarantine, maybe we won't have time to do it all," Harrison admitted. "So we have to think, 'OK what is our priority?' It's trying to create any content in the interim, and then let's get 'The Bachelorette.'"
