The competition is growing closer and closer to an end on “The Amazing Race,” and as a result, the tension is mounting and ramping up as teams do whatever it takes to win.

In a preview clip for the next episode of the CBS reality competition series, the tension for the next leg begins before teams even arrive in Split, Croatia, as they head to the airport in Brienz, Switzerland to get flights—and “Big Brother” alums Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo find themselves frustrated after Becca Droz and Floyd Pearce appear to cut them in line at the ticketing agent’s desk—and scoop up the last seats on an earlier flight to the next destination.

“It’s frustrating when people cut,” Nicole says in the clip, which elicits a swift reaction from Becca, who denies that’s what she and Floyd did.

“No, No, No, there were two lines being formed for two different ticket agents,” she says.

Unfortunately for Victor and Nicole, going to another agent doesn’t work out in their favor, as they’re told they have to go on a later flight, which can prove to be a critical issue when it comes to teams trying to stay in at any point, let alone in the final legs of the competition.

However, a second clip could hint that the pair may catch a break after all, as the other teams who are on the first flight may run out of luck following an issue on their own flight, as Becca reveals that their flight is delayed.

“We will be leaving one hour after we anticipated,” she says.

If the delay on their flight puts them on more even footing with Victor and Nicole, or even allows the pair to then get ahead of the rest of the teams, then it could keep them still in the game.

Regardless, once teams get to Croatia, things won’t get easier, as a synopsis for the episode teases that the challenges will be intense.

“Teams take a bumpy ride in Split, Croatia and try not to get tongue-twisted reciting poetry while in motion,” the synopsis reads.

“The Amazing Race” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
