Jurgen Klopp has offered crucial injury updates about Divock Origi and Thiago Alcantara ahead of Liverpool FC's upcoming Champions League final in Paris.
Liverpool lost the Premier League title to Manchester City by just a point Sunday. The Reds had to beat Wolves at Anfield and wanted Pep Guardiola's side to either lose or draw with Aston Villa.
Klopp's side did beat Wolves 3-1 but City came from the back to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 to clinch their second straight league title, overall their sixth Premier League title.
Origi, who is leaving Liverpool in the summer as a free agent, did not feature in the Wolves game due to an injury. Midfielder Thiago was forced off the field shortly before the half-time break after picking up a hamstring injury. James Milner replaced him in the second half.
When asked about Thiago's condition in a post-match conference, the German boss replied, "Not good, but I can't say more. He was outside with the families, had his little girl on his shoulders, so he could walk, that's obviously a good sign. All the rest we will see from tomorrow. [It's the] lower part of the body. I know it, but actually don't want to talk now about it. We will see."
Klopp went on to add that Liverpool would give out more information once Thiago's scan reports become available.
Meanwhile, Klopp has confirmed that Origi, who is set to join AC Milan next season, won't play in the Champions League final. The Reds will take on 13-time champions Real Madrid in Paris.
"Div is definitely out for the final because he [got] injured in the last second of the last session yesterday. He got a muscle injury, so five days will not be enough for him. Apart from that, I think all have a chance – and hopefully Thiago as well – and then we will prepare," added Klopp.
