Will Microsoft's Skype support Xbox rival Sony PlayStation Vita?
An image of Sony’s presentation in Sao Paulo, Brazil reveals a Skype logo which hints Sony’s collaboration with Skype for its upcoming portable gaming system, PlayStation Vita.
At the E3 2011, Sony had announced the name of its new portable, Vita with prices for the wi-fi and 3G models, but said nothing about the internet phone service or Skype.
Though Microsoft bought Skype for $8.5 billion recently, and will soon be incorporating it into Xbox Live, which is a competitor to Sony’s PlayStation Vita that carries the Skype logo in the settings along with other features.
While acquiring Skype, Microsoft said in addition to supporting the service on first party devices like Xbox 360 and Kinect, it will continue to invest in and support Skype clients on non-Microsoft platforms.
Though no official date of release has been announced, it has been leaked that the PlayStation Vita will become available in the UK on November 4 with more than 20 titles.
