Will ‘Riverdale’ Star KJ Apa Play Prince Harry In ‘Harry & Meghan’?
Lifetime just announced that they will be releasing a TV movie inspired by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s romance.
“Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story” will most likely premiere in May, right before Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding. Casting is already underway and there are rumors suggesting that “Riverdale” star KJ Apa could portray the prince.
Even before Lifetime announced that they will be releasing “Harry & Meghan,” a Twitter user already noted that Apa has similarities with Prince Harry. For one, he also dons ginger hair, but only when he gives life to his “Riverdale” character, Archie Andrews.
The same Twitter user likened Zendaya to Markle, and now there are also speculations that the 21-year-old former child star will portray the “Suits” star in the upcoming movie.
But if Apa wouldn’t be cast as Prince Harry in “Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story,” Sam Heughan may have a shot at getting the part. The Scottish actor is known for his role in Starz’s “Outlander” as Jamie Fraser.
Heughan isn’t exactly a red head, but he’s a bit of a dirty blonde. While speaking with PeopleStyle, he said that his hair has also been dyed before. “Yeah, it’s been dyed and it’s washing out a bit, but yeah, I’m a blondie. My beard is even blonde. I wish I had blonde hair again. Everything goes with blonde. You can wear it with any color, and it’s great,” he said.
But the casting for the role of Prince Harry shouldn’t only be determined based on an actor’s hair color. After all, an actor’s brown or black hair may easily be dyed for the part. It is also important to cast someone who has acting chops.
And if all else fail, get someone who actually resembles the prince, just like football player Carson Wentz. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a background in acting and will most likely not be cast for the part.
“Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story” will chronicle the couple’s relationship after they were introduced to each other by a common friend. It will also cover their engagement.
