Will Smith Reveals 'There's Never Been Infidelity' In His Marriage With Jada Pinkett
Will Smith believes discussing his life in public helps others "truly explore" and have a real conversation with their spouses or partners. The actor said this while revealing there's never been an "infidelity" in his marriage with his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Speaking to Gayle King on the CBS network’s "Sunday Morning" show, the actor noted "chatter is the first stage to having a real conversation and to be able to truly explore if some of the things in your heart are loving or poisonous."
"There’s never been infidelity in our marriage," the 53-year-old actor said. "Jada and I talk about everything, and we have never surprised one another with anything ever."
Will further explained how he was focusing on being happy and successful in his career for the next 10 years. The actor also noted that there was a "teacher" inside him that wanted to share how to be happy.
"I think I’m a better actor than I’ve ever been, and I think these next 10 years of my career will be the top of my acting performances," Will added. "I also feel like I can help people, there’s a teacher inside of me that’s trying to get out. I’ve learned to be happy here and I’ve learned to create love here and I want to share."
Will and Jada got married in 1997. The couple share two kids together - Jaden, 23, and Willow, 21. During Jada's talk show "Red Talk Table" in 2020, Will and Jada admitted they have been in an open relationship.
Last year, Will spoke with GQ about his non-monogamy marriage and said, "We have given each other trust and freedom, with the belief that everybody has to find their own way. And marriage for us can’t be a prison. And I don’t suggest our road for anybody."
"But the experiences that the freedoms that we’ve given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love," he added.
On the work front, Will has a bunch of movies in the making, "Emancipation," "The Council," "Fast and Loose," "Bad Boys 4" and "Bright 2."
