The best streaming palate cleanser on offer, Netflix’s “Dogs,” is coming back.

As reported by Variety on Wednesday, Netflix has renewed its original documentary series, “Dogs,” for a second season. The series aims to shine a spotlight on, well, dogs, and all the ways people bond with them and incorporate them into their lives. Season 1 featured episodes about a service dog for a girl with epilepsy, a refugee attempting to get his dog out of Syria, and the inner working of the competitive canine grooming scene.

“Dogs” was created by documentarian Glen Zipper and produced by Zipper and Amy Berg (“Deliver Us from Evil”). The first season consisted of six episodes, ranging in length between 50-53 minutes. It premiered in November 2018 to a strong reception and currently boasts a 92 percent positive response on Rotten Tomatoes.

“We are so excited that our pack is back for Season 2 of ‘Dogs,’” Zipper and Berg said. “From the beginning, we have said that the joy shown in ‘Dogs’ helps bring people together and that same feeling will translate more than ever in Season 2.”

Furthermore, the forthcoming season of “Dogs” is offering viewers a unique opportunity: the chance to feature their own dogs in the show. All pet or service dog owners need to do is tag the show on Twitter or Instagram – @netflixdogs on both – and use the hashtag, #NetflixDogStory.

The first season of “Dogs” is currently streaming on Netflix.
