Prince William and his new wife, Duchess Catherine, are set to travel thousands of miles from the north of Canada to the south of California in what is their first royal tour together, royal officials said.

The plans for the royal couple's 11-day tour were announced Monday, and the first leg will have them visiting Canada from June 30 to July 8, ABC News reported.

Palace officials outlined the couple's itinerary: They will visit Canada's capital, Ottawa and the surrounding region; Montreal and Quebec City in the francophone province of Quebec; Charlottetown and Summerside on Prince Edward Island; the Northwest Territories capital of Yellowknife and the oil boom town of Calgary, Alberta.

The Canada trip will be followed by a July 8-10 stop in Los Angeles and the surrounding area, palace officials said.

The couple, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, married April 29 at Westminster Abbey.
