Wimbledon 2015 Betting Odds: Djokovic, Murray, Federer Favored Ahead Of Final 16
Only 16 players remain in the hunt for the 2015 Wimbledon championship, but one stands out as the overwhelming likely winner. Novak Djokovic is the odds-on favorite to win the title, having yet to lose a set in this year’s tournament.
The 2014 champ has been given -150 betting odds of repeating, according to Sportsbook.ag. He entered Wimbledon as the sport’s No.1 player, and he’s been dominant against all three of his opponents. Djokovic has beaten Philipp Kohlschreiber, Jarkko Nieminen and Bernard Tomic.
The other two members of tennis’ “Big Four” that are still in contention are the second and third favorites, as they have been since the start of the tournament. Andy Murray has +250 odds, while Federer has +360 odds. The two players could be headed towards a clash in the semifinals.
Both Murray and Federer won their first two matches in straight sets, while needing four sets to top their third-round opponents. Murray got by No.23 Ivo Karlovic in the third round, and Federer beat Sam Groth.
Stan Wawrinka is the only other player with better than +3500 odds that is left in the field. After beating Djokovic in the finals at the French Open, Wawrinka has separated himself as the No.4 player in the sport. Rafael Nadal had another early exit, losing to Dustin Brown in the second round.
Nick Kyrgios pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, knocking off Milos Raonic in the third round. He has the sixth-best odds to win the championship.
