Andy Murray, who launched his newest bid to capture his frist Grand Slam crown at Wimbledon looked erratc at the start of the match, but showed off his true self as he transformed himself into an assassin to bagel his opponent Daniel Gimeno-Traver of Spain and claimed the four set triumph on Day 1.
2010 runner-up Tomas Berdych followed the footsteps of Rafa Nadal to move into the round of 64 defeating Filippo Volandri of Italy.
Ladies singles saw former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone scraping through in three tight sets against Jelena Dokic of Australia in a very interesting match, Sportscampus online reported.
A rain delay at 5 pm on the day 1 canceled 31 matches, and the new schedule on Tuesday will feature six time men's champion Roger Federer, World No. 2 Novak Djokovic, the rematch of John Isner and Nicolas Mahut, and SerenaWilliams back from her injuries.
Center Court action will begin at 1PM on Tuesday with Serena Williams (7) taking on Aravane Rezai of France. Roger Federer (3) will take on Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan. Last up on CC will be World No. 2 Novak Djokovic taking on Jeremy Chardy of France.
Court 1 play will also start at 1 PM with 8th seed Andy Roddick taking on Andreas Beck of Germany. Next up will be World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark against Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain. Last on court 1 will be Robin Soderling (5) taking on Philipp Petschner, according to a CMR report.
