'Winds Of Winter' Spoilers: George RR Martin To Make This Character King
While the fans wait for the release of “Winds of Winter,” new details about the ending of the books have surfaced online. The producers of the “Game of Thrones” TV series have revealed the name of the character who George RR Martin plans to make the king after the war against the White Walkers.
The following article contains spoilers of “Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring.”
In the DVD commentary of the “Game of Thrones” finale season, producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed that Bran Stark or the Three-eyed Raven will become the king in the books, Entertainment Weekly reported. The showrunners have based the story of the show on discussions they have had with Martin, but they have made several changes along the way. Some of the events and storylines, however, are expected to be the same in both “Winds of Winter” and the show.
Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister in the TV series, agreed that Bran is the right choice to be king. He pointed out that the Three-eyed Raven is perhaps the only “pure person” among all the characters in the story. “ And the fact he cannot father children is key because they’ve repeated the cycle in this Westerosi history of heirs being really bad,” Dinklage added.
Another storyline from the TV series that may make it to the books is that of Arya Stark. She went on a mission to explore new worlds after the war against the Night King.
The fans will have to wait and read the book to find out just how similar it is to the TV series. In a previous blog post, Martin promised to finish the book by the summer of 2020. However, it remains to be seen if he will be able to do it because in the past he has not met these self-imposed deadlines.
While the fans wait for the release date announcement for “Winds of Winter,” there are several sample chapters from the upcoming book that are available online. The most recent chapter that Martin released on his website is about Arianne.
