‘The Witcher 3’ Patch 1.12, Blood And Wine Expansion Coming In 2016, New Contest Puts Up Real Sword As Prize
“The Witcher 3” still has one more expansion that’s expected to close the story of Geralt. However, even with the mention and teaser for the Blood and Wine DLC, it appears that fans will have to wait until 2016 to get a glimpse of the contents via a trailer.
Still, considering the developer’s timeline for the release of “The Witcher 3” DLC, the wait may not be too long for a trailer to be released. Blood and Wine was slated to debut sometime in the first quarter of 2016, so CD Projekt RED may release something sometime during the early part of the first quarter.
Apart from the Blood and Wine DLC, the developer is also releasing a patch come 2016. Community Manager Marcin Momot clarified to fans that the patch 1.12 should come after New Year, Gamepur reported. So fans should not expect any more.
What fans can look forward to this holiday season instead is a contest for “The WItcher 3: Wild Hunt.” Fans only need to create an outfit or element for any of the characters in CD Projekt RED’s title that sports the festive atmosphere.
Once the design is all set, the design can be uploaded in the Nexus Mods, tagged with “Witcher Mod Contest” for eligibility. There is also a link that participants need to fill out to notify the developer of an intent to join with the mod.
CD Projekt RED will name one person as the winner of the contest. More than just having bragging rights, the winner will have his own Witcher sword, which is a replica of one of the swords in the game, GameSpot reported. Fans can make their mods and submit their designs until Jan.5.
The developer has opened the contest to all “The Witcher 3” fans worldwide. However, there are few things that participants should take note of, such as the age restriction of being at least 18 years old to join, as well as observations of shipping of sharp objects into the country, in case a contestant wins the contest.
