‘Witches Of East End’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 11 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘Poe Way Out’?
Time to burn some sage, “Witches of East End” fans -- and maybe toss some salt over your shoulder -- because according to Maggie Friedman, creator of the hit Lifetime series, things are about to get even darker when “WOEE” airs its upcoming episode. Episode 11, “Poe Way Out,” will air on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 9 p.m. EDT and will focus around the storyline of what happens when Joanna (Julia Ormond), Freya (Jenna Dewan Tatum) and Wendy (Madchen Amick) travel back in time -- to the early 1800s, to be exact.
According to the synopsis, the trio revisit one of their past lives (through the time traveling portal in the closet) to retrieve a “powerful but dangerous weapon" that may be the only way to destroy Nikolaus (Steven Berkoff), the King of Asgard.
That’s right, the king is back! And although he brought the Beauchamp girls back from the dead, he’s still not to be trusted -- or so Joanna believes.
So, what is Joanna’s secret weapon from the past? We’re not exactly sure but it might have something to do with the American writer Edgar Allan Poe. “We will meet Edgar Allan Poe and learn he was connected to the Beauchamp’s,” Friedman told the International Business Times. “We had a lot of fun with that -- taking a real character from history and playing with that in our universe. He’s in a few episodes and it’s a really cool storyline and it is quite dark.”
The last time we heard the name Poe was while reading “The Raven,” “The Cask of Amontillado” and “The Tell-Tale Heart” in high school. And from what we remember, his work was quite dark and stomach turning. That’s why we were surprised to find out that Killian (Daniel DiTomasso) was actually Poe in his past life -- or at least, that's what it looks like in the promo photo below:
While the witches are exploring their past lives, the king will be preparing for a battle in the present, with an “unsuspecting Ingrid on his side.” During episode 10 the redheaded witch decided to stay behind instead of traveling back in time with her family. Joanna was in disbelief that her daughter would do such a thing. But we know Ingrid -- and we’re hoping she has something up her sleeve to bolster her reason for staying behind.
Although the plot for episode 11 seems to be centered around the Beauchamp’s it’s safe to say the Gardiner boys will also have some time in the spotlight. During “Poe Way Out,” Dash (Eric Winter) will discover the true identity of his one night stand, and Killian will try to break the tragic cycle between him and his star-crossed lover.
