A woman who was arrested for not paying her bill at a Las Vegas airport restaurant accused officers of harassing her because she is so "good-looking."
Las Vegas Metro police said the woman, identified as Hend Bustami, 28, violated airport rules in addition to leaving her restaurant tab unpaid at a Chili's restaurant at the Harry Reid International Airport.
The arrest report said police were called to the restaurant on Aug. 31 after Bustami walked out of the restaurant without paying the bill, according to Insider. Officers managed to establish the woman's identity but could not immediately find her inside the airport's premises.
Bustami was eventually spotted sleeping near a security checkpoint and then later found in the baggage claim area, according to KTNV Channel 13 Action News.
" ... Officers working D gates were notified by TSA that [a] female matching that description was observed sleeping near the security checkpoint, hindering their operations," the report said.
While she was later found in the baggage claim area, the woman was "belligerent with officers, saying she was being harassed because cops [had] never seen anyone as pretty as her," police said.
Bustami did not seem to comply with officers and accused them of harassing her for her physical appearance. She even claimed they were trying to "rape her."
According to police, the woman said that "she was going to spit on all [the officers] and that officers were perverts and were trying to rape her because they [had] never seen anyone as good looking."
Officers eventually found out that Bustami had a warrant out of Las Vegas Municipal Court, according to 8 News Now. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and was charged with violating airport conduct.
An unrelated incident was reported in 2018 after a drunk passenger created a ruckus and abused an airline ground staff at an airport in Kolkata, India. The man blocked a Jet Airways check-in desk for about 20 minutes during the incident when he actually had tickets to board a SpiceJet airlines flight. He verbally abused the Jet Airways staff member when she asked him to move to the counter meant for SpiceJet passengers.
