A woman has claimed that she made a creepy discovery while staying at an Airbnb accommodation in Texas. A TikTok video of the woman saying she found the receipt of several expensive pieces of spy equipment that were suspected to be installed in her accommodation has now gone viral.

TikTok star Arlen posted a short clip on her account @coolstrawberry showing a bill of spy cameras and audio recorders that she found from her accommodation. The video captioned "a receipt we found at our Airbnb" received more than 540,000 views and 28,000 likes since it was posted last weekend. Meanwhile, the viral video has sparked online discussions about safety and privacy issues, Washington News Today reported.

Arlen's video shows a packing slip dated March 8, 2021, with a bill of items including a Pocket keychain recorder, a USB Flash drive audio recorder, iPhone case hidden camera, power bank hidden camera, and 16-hour voice-activated recorder pen.

Arlen also posted two subsequent videos where she explained the background story. Arlen said she, along with her boyfriend and sister, recently moved to Texas and had to stay in Airbnbs till they could find permanent accommodation.

They were in a hurry to choose that particular house as the monthly contract for the previous one was ending and they got an affordable offer, Arlen said. However, after reaching the place they realized that the actual house was much smaller than what they saw in the pictures. Arlen's boyfriend discovered the receipt while cleaning under the bed on their last day of stay there.

Many viewers asked the woman to report the incident to the police and Airbnb. Some viewers even commented that this kind of experience is something that should be expected. "Most Airbnbs have cameras and even if you bring it up they will just try saying for security reasons [sic.]," a viewer accused.

Meanwhile, some viewers suspected her claims and asked her to check the address of the bill. "Now did they just buy the items and actually use them to watch you or are you just assuming all this based on a paper you found," a viewer asked.

Arlen admitted in subsequent videos that they could not find cameras there and the bill could be accidentally dropped at the place by someone who ordered them. However, she said the experience still shocked them as she realized that someone would spend around $1000 for spying.
