Woman Fatally Stabbed Husband To Protect 11-Year-Old Son From Getting Punished: Police
A 40-year-old woman in India has been arrested on charges of murder for fatally stabbing her husband. The woman reportedly murdered the husband to protect her 11-year-old son from getting brutally thrashed by him, police said.
The incident was reported from the city of Ahmedabad, in the western state of Gujarat, on Monday night. The victim, 45-year-old Vijay Yadav, started assaulting his son Manjit, claiming he had disconnected the TV channels. Vijay began twisting the boy's arms, threatening to break them.
When the boy screamed in pain, his mother, Deepmala Yadav, jumped in to intervene, pulling her husband away. However, Vijay continued to torture the child. In a fit of rage, Deepamala picked up a knife and stabbed her husband in the chest multiple times till the victim fell unconscious on the floor, the Times of India reported.
Vijay's elder daughter called up her uncle and narrated the incident. By the time the man reached the residence, he found Vijay lying in a pool of blood. The victim was then rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead from injuries.
The investigation revealed that the altercation began after Vijay, who came home Monday night, told his family that he would be watching TV all night and did not want anything to eat. When the rest of the family went upstairs, Vijay watched TV on the ground floor of the house. However, he came back to them later accusing them of disconnecting his TV channels, The Times Bureau reported.
"Vijay’s son Manjit told him that he would look into the issue and began checking the TV remote on the ground floor of the house. But rather than allowing him to check the TV, Vijay began beating his son so badly," an investigating officer said.
Last month, a Texas woman was arrested for allegedly fatally shooting her 31-year-old husband just four days after the couple got married. The 30-year-old suspect, identified as Amber Rosales allegedly killed her 31-year-old husband Jeffrey McBride and tried to cover up the murder. Rosales initially told the police that another man shot her husband and then flung the gun inside their truck before fleeing the scene.
