Woman Freezes To Death In Sleep Due To Sudden Drop In Temperature At Night

In a shocking incident, a woman froze to death in her sleep after the temperature suddenly dipped below 10 degree Celsius at night. The incident took place in Chaiyaphum, Thailand, on Thursday.

According to local reports, the unidentified 57-year-old woman’s sister went to check on her around 7 in the morning Thursday, after sensing something amiss when the woman didn’t get up to make breakfast like she usually did. She opened the bedroom door and was shocked to find the woman lying motionless on the bed. The sister immediately alerted the police.

The responding officers declared the woman dead and noticed that the stand fan was on. She was wearing just a thin top and shorts and had not used anything to keep herself warm. The sister told the police that the woman had drunk alcohol before going to bed.

Investigation revealed that the woman died due to abrupt temperature changes.

The incident comes a few days after a Thai man froze to death after giving all the blankets to his daughter to ensure that she was warm. Prasarn Homthong gave his blankets to his eight-year-old daughter and went to sleep on a mat, wearing a shirt and shorts. The girl tried to wake him up the following morning but to not avail. The man was pronounced dead and doctors said he died because his body could not adjust to abrupt drop in the temperature.
