Woman, Her Minor Daughter Kill Husband, Dump His Burnt Body In Woods

A woman and her minor daughter were arrested in India for murdering the woman's husband after an argument with him. The mother-daughter duo burnt the victim's body before dumping it in the woods, police said.

The investigation began after the police found the charred remains of the 42-year-old man, identified as Gnanasekar, in a forested area in Kovilpatti, a city in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, news outlet India Today reported Monday.

As part of the probe, police officials questioned the victim's wife and her two minor daughters aged 14 and 15. During interrogation, the police got suspicious as they gave contradicting statements.

Eventually, investigators determined that the victim was hacked to death by the man's wife and his elder daughter, Times Now News reported.

The police have not revealed the identity of both suspects.

While talking to the neighbors, cops determined that there was a fight between Gnanasekar and his wife Saturday. The argument reportedly began after Gnanasekar, who was suspicious of his wife having an affair, questioned her. The brawl further escalated and ended in murder after Gnanasekar reprimanded his 15-year-old daughter, accusing her of being in a relationship with a 24-year-old man, identified as Karthik, police said.

After the murder, the suspects took help from Karthik to stuff the victim's corpse in a sack. They then burnt the body before disposing of it in the woods, the police said.

The investigators also arrested Karthik in connection with the case. Meanwhile, the charges against the suspects, including the minor girl remain unclear.

In a similar incident last month, a Florida man was arrested for murdering his ex-wife after cops found her remains in a burn pile on his property.

The 43-year-old suspect, identified as Ian Christopher Baunach, of LaBelle, was arrested on multiple charges, including pre-meditated murder after cops discovered the remains of his wife Katie Samantha Baunach on his property. After Katie went missing, Ian initially said his wife disappeared in the morning after they argued over another woman. However, he was arrested after the remains were discovered and the police found her blood stains inside the house.
