A woman killed her husband and hid his body under the kitchen slab for a month. The incident took place in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

On Oct. 22, 32-year-old Pramila registered a police complaint stating that her husband, 35-year-old Mahesh Banawal, was missing. On Thursday, Banawal’s elder brother approached the police and told them that ever since his brother went missing, Pramila stopped letting people inside her home.

"We have tried to go to our brother's house several times in the past one month but every time his wife turns us away hurling abuses at us while holding us responsible for Mahesh's disappearance," the brother told police.

Following the statement, police arrived at Banawal’s home and came across an unpleasant stench.

"Once we realized that the foul smell was coming from inside the house, the entire place was searched. Finally, we zeroed on the kitchen slab as the source," police said.

They soon began digging and discovered the body under the slab. Just then, Pramila started yelling that she did nothing and she was being framed. She then went on to allege that her eldest brother-in-law helped her commit the crime because Banawal was having an affair with his wife. She was taken into custody and police said Pramila used the same kitchen slab for cooking.

Police added that they feel Pramila was assisted by someone as it is not easy for a person to dig a pit under the kitchen slab and bury a body by herself.
