Woman Slaps Husband At Theme Park Over 'Stress' Of Vacation: Police

Bay Lake, Florida -- A 31-year-old Illinois woman has been arrested and charged after slapping her husband at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park in Bay Lake, Florida.

The woman, identified as 31-year-old Asia Curry of Westchester, Illinois, was charged with domestic violence in connection with the June 3 altercation, WDW News Today reported, citing Orange Circuit Court records.

The couple got into a fight in the parking lot in front of an Orange County Sheriff’s deputy just after 5 p.m. on June 3 after spending a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The husband told authorities, “They began to argue verbally about marital issues related to the stress of their vacation to Disney World.”

Curry put their kids in the car before cursing and screaming at her husband, who then walked away in an attempt to end the argument, he said.

Curry followed him and spit on her husband as he was walking away in the direction of the deputy's patrol car, according to Curry's arrest report.

“While walking up to the patrol car, Asia then slapped him with an open hand on the back of his head. At which point the parties were separated and spoke with Orange County deputies,” the deputy wrote in the report.

Curry said she slapped her husband because he deserved it, according to the report.

The husband was not injured and did not want to press charges against his wife, but Curry was still arrested and taken to jail.

Curry did not respond to requests for comment about the altercation. She is set to be arraigned on Aug. 17.

Theme park brawls are not uncommon. In 2019, a video went viral showing three family members engaging in a chaotic brawl at California's Disneyland.

In the clip, Andrea Robinson, 40, is seen spitting at her brother Avery Robinson, 35, who proceeded to attack her and later her husband Daman Petrie, 44, as some bystanders tried in vain to intervene.

Avery was later sentenced to six months in jail after he pleaded guilty to one felony count and multiple misdemeanors in a plea deal with Orange County prosecutors, Deadline reported.

Andrea was charged with five misdemeanors, while her husband faced one misdemeanor count of battery.
