A 21-year-old woman in Texas has been charged after authorities said she tried to bribe a deputy with sexual acts during her arrest.

The woman, identified as Dulce Ortiz, was taken into custody initially for her involvement in a car crash Wednesday, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 said in a statement.

Deputies were called to a neighborhood in Spring, Texas, to investigate reports of a crash.

An unidentified witness told police that a female driver fled the scene on foot after hitting a curb, driving over a flower bed and causing damage to a neighborhood sign, according to the statement.

After the woman fled, a man, who was not named, arrived at the location before the police and attempted to take the blame for the crash, authorities said.

Shortly after, Ortiz returned to the scene and was determined to be the driver who wrecked the vehicle, according to police.

“[Ortiz] displayed several signs of intoxication,” Harris County Constable Precinct 4 said in the statement.

The 21-year-old woman was arrested and charged with failure to stop and give information.

Authorities said that Ortiz later attempted to bribe a male deputy by offering sexual acts and cash in exchange for being let go while she was being transported to jail.

She was charged with bribery and booked into the Harris County Jail.

Police said Ortiz's bond has not been set but is assigned to the 262nd District Court.

In related news, a woman in Columbus, Indiana, was arrested after allegedly driving drunk and getting into two accidents.

Columbus police were called to the 1000 block of Fifth Street shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday where a vehicle had struck a building and flag pole, WKKG reported.

The driver, Rebekah A. McCoy, 22, appeared intoxicated, witnesses told police.

Police later discovered that McCoy had been involved in a previous crash, where the driver left the scene.

McCoy was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle, neglect of a dependent and two counts of leaving the scene of a property damage crash.
