Witnesses are heard calling out the woman for her language. One person can be heard saying, "That's not acceptable. No, it's not. Totally not OK." Another person can be heard reporting the incident to the police over the phone.

A few moments later, the woman storms out of the post office but not before using the slur again.

"Karen calls usps worker a racial slur multiple times. Right here in Los Altos, CA. Racist women refers to an Asian women as not being from here amd then goes on to call her a multitude of racial slurs. Unacceptable," Brumfield wrote along with the video.

Speaking to ABC 7 regarding why he wanted to record the incident, Brumfield said, "The reason I did it was to spread awareness and to let people know that this is happening all around us. We live in Silicon Valley and this is happening in Los Altos, California."

"We are all humans and we should respect each other as such, because someone is different or has different melanin doesn't mean we have to disregard the humanity of that particular person." he told the channel via Zoom.

The U.S. Postal Service condemned the actions. A communications person told the channel that the USPS does not tolerate such behavior and that the incident is being investigated.

The incident comes days after a man was caught on camera yelling racial slurs at a New York City sanitation worker. In the video, Joseph O'Brien was seen yelling at the worker to "get out of the middle of the street" before yelling racial slurs at the worker. Upon noticing that someone was recording the incident, O'Brien steps out of his vehicle, snatches the phone out of the witness’ hand before throwing the device across the street. The man issued an apology after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
