- Others were not impressed with "Wonder Woman 1984" and found it lacking compared to the first film
"Wonder Woman 1984" is already out in theaters and streaming on HBO Max, and fans have mixed opinions about the superhero flick.
"Wonder Woman 1984" reunites Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins for one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. The sequel to 2017's "Wonder Woman" also introduced two new villains, Kristen Wiig's Barbara Minerva/Cheetah and Pedro Pascal's Maxwell Lord.
Following the second installment's dual premiere, fans have taken to Twitter with their thoughts about "WW84," with many praising the performances, action sequences and plot.
"it was great, so many feels, loved the performances and the style. the cgi and the plot were a bit wonky in a few places tho," one user wrote.
"It is a true MASTERPIECE!! And Amazing. It got Me to laugh cry and get Emotional. Best movie of 2020! #WonderWoman1984," another posted.
"Liked it in parts, as in it had great moments, it slowed down a bit with less Wonder Woman action. It had more than one tear jerker. She did the one thing I thought she would do in the first movie, so that was cool and the end credit scene was done righteous," another opined.
While many were satisfied and found "Wonder Woman 1984" fun overall, some were not as impressed.
"Mediocre. Too much reliance on the lasso and long-winded flying scenes. (No pun intended.) First WW was far superior. DC still hasn’t learned how to do a cinematic universe right," one netizen wrote.
"TERRIBLE! I was really looking forward to this and was VERY let-down! The script/story is just, horrible & the long running-time doesn't help. The first film is WAY BETTER! There's not even a 'No Man's Land' type of scene. If you've seen the trailers, you've seen the film," a second user commented.
"#wonderwoman1984 has some cool ideas and fun scenes, but it is a bloated, unremarkable movie," Greg Miller tweeted.
"Wonder Woman 1984" is the first movie on HBO Max that is available in 4K Ultra HD, Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos.
