Alec Baldwin got kicked off an American Airlines flight because he was a bit too consumed with his Words with Friends game. Baldwin would not put away his electronic device because he was playing the game.
Words with Friends is one of the most popular apps available through Apple today. With over 20 million downloads, the app's creators boast it as a wonderfully addicting game. Complete with word building, triple scores and chat capabilities, it is no wonder people cannot stop playing.
Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing 'Words with Friends' while parked at the gate, his spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik said in a written statement. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it, but he has already boarded another AA flight.
Baldwin tweeted throughout the ordeal and vowed to never fly on the bankrupt American Airlines again. One of his posts read: #theresalwaysunited Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants. Baldwin has since deactivated his Twitter account.
In response, American Airlines tweeted: Mr. Baldwin, we are looking into this.
Also on the flight was famous boxer Oscar de la Hoya, who described the scene to reporters in New York. I actually felt Alec Baldwin was turning off his devices, and he just got a little angry, he said.
