One half of the 2014 World Cup final was decided on Tuesday, as Germany dominated Brazil in their semifinal match. Germany’s opponent will be decided Wednesday, as Argentina takes on the Netherlands.

As the only team to reach the finals thus far, Germany has been named the overwhelming favorite to win the tournament, among the three remaining teams. Bovada.lv has set their championship betting odds at -150. Argentina is expected to advance, giving them +275 odds. The Netherlands comes in at +400.

Before the semifinals began, Argentina was named the slight favorite to win the 2014 World Cup. That might have changed with Germany’s performance against Brazil. While the host nation embarrassed itself in a 7-1 loss, Germany’s performance could not be ignored. The team has been impressive throughout the tournament, outscoring their World Cup opponents by 13 goals.

If their 2014 World Cup trend continues, Argentina will defeat the Netherlands by one goal. In all five of their matches, the team has won by a single score. They have three 1-0 victories, including their wins over Switzerland and Belgium in the Round of 16 and the quarterfinals, respectively.

The Netherlands had a few wins in group play by more than one goal, but they barely survived in their next two matches. The team needed two goals in the final minutes to comeback against a late 1-0 deficit in the Round of 16. Against Costa Rica in quarterfinals, the Netherlands failed to score in regulation or overtime, needing a shootout to advance.
