World-Wide Group Sells Manhattan Car Dealership for $27.75 Million
An affiliate of the World-Wide Group has sold a two-story commercial building at 646 Eleventh Avenue for $27.75 million, according to New York City records.
A spokeswoman for the World-Wide Group had no immediate comment.
The buyer was Brooklyn-based Girt Realty LLC. Andrew Zizmor, an attorney for Girt, didn't immediately return a request for comment.
It was unclear if any real estate brokers were involved in the deal.
The building is 50,207 square feet, according to PropertyShark. It is occupied by the car dealership Nissan of Manhattan and between West 48th and 47th Streets, along a stretch known as Automobile Row. BMW and Mercedes also have showrooms nearby.
The World-Wide Group took control of the building in 1989 from Salisbury Development, according to city records. Ownership was subsequently transferred to an affiliate, 646 11th Avenue Corp., and later West Side Realty Acquisition LLC.
The World-Wide Group is developing 250 East 57th Street, a mixed-use tower with two public schools, a retail that includes a Whole Foods and a residential tower. Its other residential properties include 50 Murray Street, 53 Park Place and 71 Broadway.
