World’s oldest dog meets 21st birthday
Channel, a dachshund mix, is going to be celebrating her 21st birthday which is equal to 120 years in human years according to her veterinarian.
Channel was named the oldest dog by Guinness World Records last year. Her red coat has faded white, she gets cold easily and she wears doggie glasses for her cataracts.
The oldest living pooch and her owner, Denice Shaughnessy, visited the TODAY show set in New York on Wednesday.
“She’s doing fine,” Shaughnessy said of Chanel. “The vet says he’s never seen a dog her age do so much,” Shaughnessy commented.
And she spends her days relaxing at home, only taking walks in the summer.
