It's summertime, and undoubtedly you are planning a fantastic getaway to beat the summer heat. Want to get the most bang for your travel buck? Here is a handy hotel guide to get you started.
Travel website Expedia released its sixth annual list of the world's best-reviewed hotels, Expedia Insiders' Select 2012, which took into consideration more than 500,000 reviews by Expedia customers received during the course of last year to find the hotel that offered the best value, service, and amenities.
This year, a small boutique hotel in Bratislava, Slovakia -- Marrol's Boutique Hotel Bratislava -- was crowned the world's best hotel.
Marrol's, a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World, has 51 luxurious guest rooms and three individually designed suites, with views of the Old Town streets or the hotel's garden courtyard.
It provides a full spa, a great restaurant featuring Italian and traditional Slovak cuisine, and luxurious rooms for private or business meetings. As good as these amenities are, the price is even better: A recent search on Expedia showed that a room at the 5-star hotel could cost only $114 per night (with breakfast and free Internet access).
