World’s top 10 favorite foods
Oxfam, a UK based international aid group, released its interesting findings from a new global food survey, participated by 16,421 citizens in 17 countries, last Wednesday.
The countries that were interviewed for the survey include the USA, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, and the UK.
Oxfam pointed in their report that globally there are two major reasons why people change their diets: rising price of food or health reasons.
In Kenya, for example, a staggering 76% of respondents said they have changed their diet with 79% blaming the price of food. “Our diets are changing fast and for too many people it is a change for the worse,” said Jeremy Hobbs, executive director of Oxfam.
However, the main reason why Americans are not eating the same foods they did two years ago is for health concerns.
In addition, the public opinion poll report highlighted world's top 10 favorite foods.
