The top two matches for WrestleMania 35 became official just 24 hours after the 2019 Royal Rumble. Becky Lynch will challenge Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship, and Seth Rollins is set to face off with Brock Lesnar in a match for the WWE Universal Championship.

A lot can happen in the months leading up to the biggest show of the year. There are still two pay-per-views on the schedule before WrestleMania 35, and things in WWE are constantly changing.

But it’s pretty clear which superstars should emerge victorious in the two title matches.

Becky is on her way toward beating Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania. There has been speculation for months regarding which match might close the show, but there should be no doubt as to the answer following the post-Rumble edition of “Monday Night Raw.”

The 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble winner is the biggest babyface in WWE. Becky’s popularity has been undeinable since the summer, and it’s only grown this winter. It was thought that maybe Charlotte Flair would be included in a triple threat match for the Raw Women’s Title, but her presence isn’t needed.

Rousey had been the top female babyface on Monday nights. That changed when Becky became the No.1 contender for her title. The crowd was firmly in her favor when she confronted the former UFC champion, giving WWE the perfect opportunity to turn Rousey heel for their feud.

A win over Rousey would elevate Becky to an even higher level. No one has pinned or submitted Rousey since she had her first WWE match at WrestleMania 34. The only fitting conclusion to WrestleMania 35 is for Becky to win the Raw Women’s Championship by forcing Rousey to tap to the Dis-arm-her.

Rousey has, in a way, become the women’s divison’s version of Brock Lesnar. Lesnar has been booked like the most destructive force WWE has seen in decades with victory after victory. Since losing to Triple H at WrestleMania 29, only Goldberg and Roman Reigns have pinned Lesnar.

The build for WrestleMania 31 and WrestleMania 34 were both leading toward Reigns defeating Lesnar in the main event. The fans never completely embraced Reigns, and WWE ultimately didn’t allow him to get the pinfall at either show.

Reigns finally ended Lesnar’s Universal Championship run at SummerSlam. He vacated the title a few months later after being diagnosed with leukemia, and Lesnar regained it on Nov. 2.

Rollins has the steam that WWE had hoped Reigns would one day pick up. He was the logical pick to be the Men’s Royal Rumble winner, and he’s the best choice to finally beat Lesnar on the grandest stage of them all.

Lesnar’s title reigns over the last five years have been highlighted by his absence on WWE TV. Rollins has the popularity and the tools to be the full-time Universal Champion that fans have been clamoring for.
