For the first time since 2005, “WrestleMania” will be making its way back to Los Angeles as the 37th installment of the iconic World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) event will be held in Inglewood.

As reported by The Wrap through Yahoo! Entertainment, WWE announced Monday that the soon-to-be-opened SoFi Stadium will host “WrestleMania 37” on March 28, 2021.

The SoFi Stadium is scheduled to open this summer and will be the new home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti told The Wrap that wrestling fans will see a city that is “ready to host them.”

“There is nothing quite like WrestleMania Week. It is a one-of-a-kind event that provides an economic boost to the region,” he said.

Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Jr., who also expressed his enthusiasm in hosting such a historic event, pointed that “WrestleMania” will add to the growing “national and internationally followed events” the city will be hosting for the next eight years.

In addition, Butts, Jr. told ProFootball Talk praised at how the event, let alone the WWE, gathers fans of all ages, and that people are “more excited” that Inglewood is hosting “WrestleMania” than the Olympics.

“On behalf of everyone at WWE, we are excited to bring WrestleMania back to Los Angeles,” said WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.

The week-long “WrestleMania” celebration will also bring the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony, “Friday Night Smackdown,” “NXT TakeOver” and “Monday Night Raw,” said the Los Angeles Times.
