WWE 2014 WrestleMania 30: Results And Recap For Undertaker Vs. Brock Lesnar And Every Match On The Card
WrestleMania 30 was billed as one of the biggest events in WWE history, and it exceeded all expectations. Over 75,000 fans witnessed the most important WWE pay-per-view event of 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
The PPV turned out to be one of the most unpredictable WrestleMania’s of all time. Multiple betting favorites ended their matches with a loss, which is a rarity for the biggest PPV of the year. Other than the matches, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock made an appearance on the show.
Below are the complete results for WrestleMania 2014, as well as a recap of each match.
Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H
The COO dominated much of this match, but Bryan came out on top, pinning Triple H after a running knee. Following the match, Stephanie McMahon slapped Bryan several times, and Triple H attacked him, hoping to ruin his title chances.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan
Nothing could stop Bryan on the biggest night of his career. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon tried to interfere in the match, bringing former referee, Scott Armstrong, to the ring. Bryan, though, forced all three to head backstage. WWE’s unlikely hero re-entered the match, following an attempt by doctors to take him away on a stretcher. He made Batista tap out to the YES Lock, earning the title and the biggest pop of the night.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
In possibly the biggest surprise in WWE history, The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak came to an end. A third F5 from Lesnar was too much for the “Deadman” to handle, as he lost cleanly and saw his WrestleMania record go to 21-1. Now, the question remains—was this The Undertaker’s last match?
Winner: Brock Lesnar
John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
In his first WrestleMania, Wyatt entered the match as the favorite to beat the biggest name in WWE. However, Cena surprised many, by pinning Wyatt, following an Attitude Adjustment. The in-ring psychology was as good as any match on the card. Hopefully, the feud continues on to the next PPV.
Winner: John Cena
The Shield vs. Kane & The New Age Outlaws
After a long match between Bryan and Triple H, The Shield made quick work of Kane and The New Age Outlaws. They got the pin, following a triple power bomb of both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, at the same time. It appears Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will continue as a dominant babyface faction for the foreseeable future.
Winner: The Shield
Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Cesaro has been gaining steam over the last few months, but he’s finally arrived with a win in the battle royal. While most expected Big Show to leave with the trophy, Cesaro tossed the giant out of the ring for the victory.
Winner: Cesaro
Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational
It’s been almost a year, and no Diva has been able to pry the title away from AJ Lee. She made Naomi tap, after applying her Black Widow submission.
Winner: AJ Lee
Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Los Matadores vs. The Real Americans vs. Ryback & Curtis Axel (Pre-Show match)
The elimination match came down to the Usos and Real Americans. Cesaro was pinned, after Jimmy and Jey hit him with a splash, simultaneously. Most importantly, it appears that the Real Americans are done as a tag team. After the match, Cearo used the big swing on Jack Swagger.
Winner: The Usos
