KEY POINTS
- Brock Lesnar recently lost his world title to Roman Reigns
- Reigns triumphed in WrestleMania to become the undisputed champion
- Reigns has been the Universal Champion for close to 600 days
There is a reported backstage update on Brock Lesnar, who recently lost his WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38.
The Beast Incarnate was not present backstage at WWE RAW that took place soon after the completion of this year’s The 'Show of the Shows,' unnamed sources told PWInsider. International Business Times, however, could not verify it independently.
WrestleMania 38 is believed to have been one of the biggest editions of the ‘Grandest of the Shows’. It was a two-night affair and the event closed with the much-awaited ‘Title vs Title’ fight between Roman Reigns and Lesnar. The Tribal Chief brought curtains down to the duo’s storyline by triumphing in the showdown. He hit a spear on Lesnar and pinned him down. Reigns walked away as an undisputed WWE and Universal Champion.
By doing so, Reigns has now extended his reign as the Universal Champion for close to 600 days.
After Lesnar’s loss at WrestleMania 38, there were questions raised regarding his WWE future. However, it was earlier reported that the seven-time WWE Champion is set to return to WWE TV very soon. While there is no update on his immediate storyline, Lesnar is set to appear in WrestleMania Backlash and Money in the Bank Premium Live Events in May and July, respectively.
The fight between Lesnar and Reigns left the latter with legit injury as it looked like The Tribal Chief may have dislocated his shoulder, according to New York Post.
Even though Lesnar lost his title to Reigns, in what was a heartwarming gesture, the Beast Incarnate was seen subtly checking on his arch-rival. Not just Reigns, three more wrestlers suffered injuries across the two days of WrestleMania. The other three injured stars were AJ Styles, Bianca Belair and Rick Boogs.
Meanwhile, Reigns is believed to be gearing up for another opponent. Former two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is all set to be next in line for Reigns based on the publicized cards for post-WrestleMania live events.
