Bill Goldberg is one of the more popular wrestlers who wrapped up his career at Wrestlemania 33 back in 2017. One year later, he was inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame and little has been known about what the actor-wrestler has been up to.

To date, he remains linked to a potential WWE return. Nothing has transpired but a new rumor has surfaced in the wrestling world. However, that potential Goldberg return will not happen in the WWE but possibly at a new wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

According to Cageside Seats, rumors have been swirling that the AEW is going after WWE personnel. The targets are reportedly young and legendary wrestlers and that Goldberg was included in the list.

Further adding fuel to the fire was Goldberg following the AEW and ALL IN 2: Double or Nothing Twitter accounts. Prior to that, Goldberg followed the account of another WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling legend in Hillbilly Jim. Like Goldberg, Hillbilly Jim has also been linked to AEW.

So far, the official signees by AEW include Matt & Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page and Brandi Rhodes. Britt Baker is another name being mentioned, seeing how she had a working relationship with some of the people behind AEW.

AEW is seen as a promotion that could gain some ground, especially with financial backing from Tony Khan, Forbes reported. Adding familiar names like Goldberg and Hillbilly Jim should further boost the momentum for AEW and open doors to wrestlers who are currently looking to latch on to a new circle.

One name that comes to mind is CM Punk. Though he has repeatedly denounced interest in pro wrestling, seeing how his mixed martial arts journey has faltered badly, the AEW could be a fresh start. And with the WWE looming as a competitor, such could give the former WWE champion enough reason to start anew.

Tye Dillinger and Sami Zayn are two notable WWE stars who could make a splash with AEW. Both were given the chance to shine on several occasions but nothing really helped boost their stock. With a packed locker room, there are other names like maybe Dolph Ziggler or even maybe Alberto Del Rio.

There are a lot of big names in wrestling out there, waiting for their chance at redemption. AEW does seem promising so it will be interesting if the WWE is concerned at all with its impending rise.
