WWE Hell In A Cell 2014: Match Card And Predictions, Including John Cena Vs. Randy Orton
For the second time in 2014, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship won’t be defended at a pay-per-view. Hell in a Cell is set for Sunday night in Dallas, but Brock Lesnar won’t be in attendance.
The champion hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since he retained the title at Night of Champions, and there have been rumors that he won’t wrestle again until 2015. Daniel Bryan also didn’t defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Payback, following his neck injury.
The Intercontinental championship isn’t scheduled to be defended at the PPV, but that will likely change. Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro should continue their feud at Hell in a Cell.
Six matches are included on the match card, though more could be added by the start of the PPV. Below are predictions for Hell in a Cell 2014.
John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Hell In A Cell Match To Be No.1 Contender)
Considering Cena is much more likely than Orton to face Lesnar for the title, the 15-time world champ has the better chance of coming out on top. Orton won’t face Lesnar as a heel, and though he could turn against The Authority in the near future, WWE probably wants to squeeze one more match out of Cena and the current champ.
Prediction: John Cena
Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (Hell In A Cell Match)
The former Shield members have been feuding since June, and if Sunday is their last match, look for Ambrose to come out on top. With both Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns injured, Ambrose is the No.2 babyface in the company, and WWE will continue to push him. Rollins still has the Money in the Bank Briefcase and doesn't need a victory.
Prediction: Dean Ambrose
Sheamus vs. The Miz (United States Championship Match)
As The Miz’s stunt double, Damien Sandow continues to grow in popularity. On the most recent edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Sandow rolled up Sheamus for the victory. He’s been getting cheered each week, and he could cost The Miz his chance of winning the title, possibly turning him babyface soon.
Prediction: Sheamus
Goldust & Stardust vs. The Usos (Tag Team Championship Match)
The Usos had one of the longest tag team title reigns in recent history, and their time with the belts is likely over for the time being.
Prediction: Goldust & Stardust
AJ Lee vs. Paige (Divas Championship Match)
It’s difficult to tell what direction WWE is going in with the Divas division. The title has changed hands four times between AJ and Paige since the night after WrestleMania 30, and it doesn’t make much sense for it to happen again.
Prediction: AJ Lee
Big Show vs. Rusev
Rusev has yet to lose a match via pinfall or tap out, and he won’t suffer his first ever defeat to Big Show. WWE has been teasing a Mark Henry heel turn, and it’s possible that the world’s strongest man could cost the babyface the match.
Prediction: Rusev
