WWE Legend Blasts LeBron James Over Lakers Superstar's Latest Dig At NBA

LeBron James has taken a jab at the NBA on social media and received a blunt response from a WWE legend.

After 14 consecutive post seasons of getting past the first round, James got eliminated in this year’s NBA playoffs. In the wake of the Los Angeles Lakers’ elimination, the four-time MVP has claimed that things would’ve been completely different had the league not fast-tracked the start of the 2020-21 season.

The season began exactly 71 days after the Lakers were crowned NBA champions in October 2020. In a series of tweets, James pointed out that the said decision took a toll on the players as the lack of rest caused a lot of “injuries.”

“They all didn’t wanna listen to me about the start of the season,” James tweeted. “I knew exactly what would happen. I only wanted to protect the well being of the players which ultimately is the PRODUCT & BENEFIT of OUR GAME! These injuries isn’t just 'PART OF THE GAME’. It’s the lack of PURE RIM REST rest before starting back up.”

“8, possibly 9 ALL-STARS has missed Playoff games (most in league history). This is the best time of the year for our league and fans but missing a ton of our fav players. It’s insane,” he continued.

James added, “If there’s one person that know about the body and how it works all year round it’s ME! I speak for the health of all our players and I hate to see this many injuries this time of the year. Sorry fans wish you guys were seeing all your fav guys right now.”

The 36-year-old posted the same statement on his official Facebook account. This time, WWE legend and former UFC star Ken Shamrock sent him a stern reminder that his “job” is to play and not engage in politics.

“How about just do your job and let the coaches do their job & the management do their jobs,” Shamrock wrote. “Stop being political…do your job.”

James has always been a subject of criticism in the NBA. Some naysayers claimed the 17-time NBA All-Star is already dwindling, and it’s about time to consider calling it a career.

Though James appears to not be contemplating retirement, a change appears to be looming for the Lakers squad next season.

Lakers veteran forward Jared Dudley said the team will have Anthony Davis as its main guy “next year,” given James is already approaching the twilight years of his career.
