  • Alexa Bliss denies rumors of having a grudge with Ronda Rousey
  • Bliss suffered concussions in two separate matches with Rousey
  • Rousey will challenge for the SmackDown Women's title at WrestleMania

Three-time Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss has never been one to shy away from responding to her most ardent detractors, especially when they involve another performer namely Ronda Rousey.

“[Alexa] Bliss reportedly disliked Ronda [Rousey] due to her reckless in-ring style causing injuries. The shade thrown at Ronda from Alexa in a group chat with other WWE women confirmed the heat and the timing did see Bliss miss out on many months of action after getting banged up,” the report claimed.

Bliss took to Twitter to respond and it was a blunt, but effective, way of shooting down the rumor.

“This is quite comical and not true. I’m only in one group chat and it’s with my bridal party,” ending her statement with the hashtag “keep trying trolls.”

It is worth noting that Bliss did suffer two concussions while working in as much matches with Rousey, one at Hell in a Cell 2018 and the other during a WWE house show.

The latter unfortunately happened just before she was scheduled to face her childhood idol and seven-time WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus at the all-women’s event of WWE Evolution back in 2018.

“The weekend before Evolution, they wanted me to have a weekend of live events… We [Ronda Rousey and I] slipped, crashed, and burned. I was in the training room, my nose was bleeding, I was crying. The doctor said, ‘I think you’re concussed.’ It’s like the process starts all over again,” Bliss recalled as quoted by Wrestling Inc.

Following her loss to Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules 2021, Bliss was off WWE programming for a while and no one knew for sure why.

She made her in-ring return at WWE Elimination Chamber in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last month, but failed to secure her spot for a No. 1 contender’s match at WrestleMania 38 which had fans wondering what her role would be moving forward.

Bliss is not scheduled to make an appearance at the massive two-night event, though it is well within the realm of possibility that she will take part in a pre-show match to help drum up hype for her next storyline.

On the other hand, Rousey will be challenging Flair for the latter’s SmackDown Women’s Championship in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 38 happening this Saturday, April 2 at 8 PM ET.
