  • Alexa Bliss will reportedly be out of action for a "few months" according to a new report
  • Fans have speculated the reasons as to why the fan-favorite superstar will miss time
  • This could also be a sign that Bliss will return to her original gimmick

Former Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss will reportedly be taking some time off WWE programming with no reasons given yet.

According to the owner of Wrestling Inc, Raj Giri, Bliss will be out of action for some time, a “few months” at best.

Many speculated that Bliss might be pregnant or that she is simply taking a leave from the company to enjoy her wedding with American musician Ryan Cabrera.

However, the “few months” that Giri mentions could also be a cause for concern as it could mean that Bliss has been dealing with an injury that is not public knowledge as of yet.

Whatever the case may be, there could be a silver lining waiting in the wings for her.

After beating Bliss at Extreme Rules this past Sunday, WWE Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair ripped up her doll, Lilly, in the hopes of bringing back the Bliss that became champion.

“The Alexa (Bliss) I faced tonight was the old Alexa. It was the Alexa I saw when she held the Raw Women’s Championship multiple times. Tonight, she fought me and faced me,” said Flair in a backstage interview posted on WWE’s Twitter account.

“Yes, I’m still the Queen, but that’s the Lexi we all want to see. Ripping up Lilly was a wakeup call. A wakeup call to remind her that she’s still a champion at heart.”

This could mean that WWE fans have just seen the end of the supernatural version of Bliss and a return to her Harley Quinn-inspired “Goddess” gimmick.

The current version of Bliss has been in effect since she partnered up with Bray Wyatt last year and subsequently took on the supernatural gimmick after his release.

It has been lukewarmly received by WWE fans since the company made her take control of a role that keeps her natural charisma in a box.

Many pro wrestling podcasts have also soured on the gimmick, believing that it has run its course without Wyatt’s original vision.

With the recent report, fans are hoping that WWE brings back "Goddess" Bliss--a charismatic personality on the microphone that puts on exciting matches without the need for supernatural occurrences.
