WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar Was Eliminated In Royal Rumble By The Wrong Wrestler
KEY POINTS
- Brock Lesnar announced weeks before the PPV that he will enter number one in the Royal Rumble
- Lesnar has eliminated 13 men in the match before going over the ropes by Drew McIntyre
- Reports say that Rey Mysterio should have been the one to eliminate the Beast Incarnate
Uh-oh!
It’s either he wasn’t supposed to eliminate six more competitors, or the order was just right but the job was done by the wrong wrestler.
The elimination of “The Beast Incarnate” is rumored to be executed incorrectly per reports from Ringside News published after the 2020 Royal Rumble held at Houston. TX. On "Oh, You Didn't Know Wrestling Show" podcast by Brad Shepard and Jon Fisher, they discussed an in-depth analysis of the recently concluded PPV event by the WWE and one of the topics that they have tackled was the domination of Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar, the current WWE champion, announced weeks before the Royal Rumble that he will be entering the free-for-all at number one, welcoming everybody that will enter the ring once their number was called.
Lesnar have eliminated 13 superstars in succession – Elias, Erick Rowan, Robert Roode, John Morrison, Rey Mysterio, Big E, Kofi Kingston, Cesaro, Shelton Benjamin, Shinsuke Nakamura, MVP, Braun Strowman, and Keith Lee before finding himself stumbling over the ropes by Drew McIntyre to the delight of the sold-out Minute Maid Park.
The thing is that it’s not supposed to be the Irishman who should have done that to Lesnar – it was supposed to be the master of 619. “I’m told that Rey Mysterio was originally going to eliminate Brock. It would have been Brock Lesnar and not Drew,” the discussion on the podcast said. “That would have furthered the feud between Brock and Rey.”
In an episode of RAW in September, the former NCAA wrestling champion attacked Mysterio’s teenage son Dominick who was watching from ringside.
But the father and son duo had some sort of revenge at Survivor Series but still not enough to beat Lesnar in a "No Holds Barred" match for the WWE title.
Whatever the reason for the sudden change of heart during the Rumble itself may or may not be revealed but there is one thing that is guaranteed – Drew McIntyre will headline Wrestlemania 26.
