KEY POINTS

  • Kofi Kingston is not much on a high for the "KofiMania" revival
  • Kingston or Drew McIntyre could be heading towards a feud with The Miz at WrestleMania 37
  • Kingston is considered a dark horse in the Elimination Chamber match

Kofi Kingston is a late addition to the Elimination Chamber match, a move that has got a lot of people thinking.

The former WWE Champion took the place of The Miz for the coming WWE pay-per-view event, and the timing hints at something diabolical happening.

For one, there are big stakes on the line. If Kingston managed to overcome the odds, he could be the WWE Champion by the end of the night.

Drew McIntyre remains the reigning champion, but most know that anything can happen when multiple WWE stars are in this kind of a match.

However, the sudden push for Kingston has gotten many pundits thinking. Is this a new boost to the 39-year-old’s stock? Is he the chosen one to headline WrestleMania 37? There are a lot of things to consider.

But one thing that was suggested is that it could be a spark to re-ignite “KofiMania.” It would be best to recall that WrestleMania 35 moment, where Kingston won the WWE Title at the expense of Daniel Bryan.

If he comes out with a big win this weekend, that could be the start of something big.

Speaking on Instinct Culture by Denise Salcedo, Kingston weighed in on a “KofiMania” sequel but made it clear that he is not dwelling on it.

Kingston has been in the industry for a long time, and he is not holding his hopes high of seeing another big push coming for now.

“I don't know, but I've been around the industry so long that I know things change at the drop of a hat. And, you know, I try not to get my hopes up for anything," Kingston stated.

While it makes sense, the reality is that there is a lingering factor to consider. He goes by the name of The Miz, the same guy whose spot he took.

With the “Awesome One” holding the Money in the Bank Briefcase, he could cash in any time–regardless of who the champion is.

Considering that most WWE stars are battered from matches like the Elimination Chamber, there is a big possibility he could cash in. That could be McIntyre or anyone else who comes out of the punishing event.

With the odds of The Miz cashing in at WWE Elimination Chamber, it could set the tone for WrestleMania 37.

Right now, that could be one of two personalities–McIntyre or Kingston. The WWE creative team has something in mind and the sudden injection of Kingston is pretty suspicious.
