KEY POINTS

  • Roman Reigns recently defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38
  • Reigns has been the Universal Champion for nearly 600 days
  • The Tribal Chief is an undisputed WWE and Universal Champion

The WWE Company has reportedly no plans to dethrone the unified WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the near future.

Reigns defeated then-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 earlier this month to unify the WWE and Universal titles and walked away as an undisputed champion.

The Tribal Chief could hold the two sparkling belts until a dream fight against WWE legend The Rock, who is also the former’s cousin, according to WrestlingNews. The two could face off against each other at WrestleMania 39 as WWE plan to push Reigns as the "greatest of all-time."

"We are told that, as of today, there are still no plans for him to lose the title anytime soon. Some in the company have speculated that he will hold the title through next year’s WrestleMania (the hope is that The Rock will come back for one final match) and by that point, the company would start pushing Reigns as the greatest of all time," read a report in WrestlingNews.

Reigns’ Universal Championship began in August 2020 and he has held the title for nearly 600 days now (590 to be precise).

Meanwhile, he is set to travel to the U.K to feature in the SmackDown brand, according to WWE’s official release.

Even though the WWE Company has not revealed the name of the wrestler who would challenge Reigns’ unified titles, the Head of the Table is set to take on Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre in SmackDown’s upcoming European tour.

Reigns and McIntyre have faced each other several times at live events before WrestleMania 38 as well. The two haven't had a long-term feud ever since Reigns took on his Tribal Chief persona. The live events in France, Germany, and the U.K will take place later this month, where Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair are also scheduled to face each other.
