Let's get ready to rumble!
Temperatures are rising because WWE SummerSlam 2016 will rock Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Sunday, Aug. 21. The pay-per-view event will feature big matchups and new champions with some of the biggest names in the wresting biz including WWE Superstars Randy Orton, Brock Lesner, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, The New Day, Sheamus and more.
But the match we are most excited about is reserved for the Divas! The team of Eva Marie, Natalya and Alexa Bliss were set to take on Carmella, Naomi and Becky Lynch in a six woman tag match but it has been announced that Eva Marie is facing a 30 day suspension and will not be competing.
WWE RAW's Women's champion Sasha Banks will be defending her title against former champion Charlotte (with Dana Brooke banned from ringside). Unfortunately, fan favorites the Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki, who star in E!'s "Total Divas" will not be getting into the ring this year.
The 2016 edition will be the twenty-ninth event under the SummerSlam chronology, the second consecutive SummerSlam at the Barclay Center and the first event under the new WWE brand extension. The event will also crown the first WWE Universal Champion.
