'X-Files' 2016 Spoilers: Episode 3 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In 'Mulder And Scully Meet The Were-Monster'? [VIDEO]
Since "The X-Files" miniseries premiered Sunday on Fox, Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) have had to deal with alien DNA and people with special abilities, thanks to genetic mutations. Next Monday, the two could come face-to-face with a strange creature for the first time since 2002 in episode 3, "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster."
According the synopsis, Mulder and Scully will be called in to take on a case after a dead body is discovered in the woods. The partners will try to figure out if the person was killed by a serial killer, animal, or a "mysterious creature" that was seen by eyewitnesses.
"We've been given another case file, it has a monster in it," Scully says in the episode 3 promo video. A strange beast is shown moving in the shadows throughout the video as Mulder tells Scully that he's searching for is "a man-sized horned lizard with human teeth." Scully lets Mulder know the internet "is not good" for him. Based on the previews, it sounds like the two will be looking for a creature that might be part werewolf and lizard.
Aside from dealing with a creature that might feed off of a full moon, Mulder will also continue to battle "demons" from his past. When episode 2 came to a close, Mulder was shown daydreaming about what it would have been like to raise his and Scully's son William. Will Mulder be shown still trying to cope with not seeing his son grow up in episode 3?
Fans of "The X-Files" should be excited about episode 3 because it was written and directed by Darin Morgan. Morgan was responsible for some of the most memorable episodes of the original series, including "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" and "Jose Chung's From Outer Space." The writer is also known for throwing some humor into the sci-fi drama.
