Xbox Game Pass Adds 'Age Of Empires 3,' 'Tales Of Vesperia' And More

The October lineup for Xbox Game Pass is getting a remastered strategy game, a classic role-playing game, a body-climbing title, a curious platformer and several other titles this week.

The online video game streaming service continues to add games for subscribers, which have risen to over 15 million. Thanks to high-quality games joining their ranks, it has become easier for gamers to make the choice of getting a Game Pass subscription.

According to the official Xbox website, Oct. 15 will see the arrival of “Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition,” “Heave Ho,” “Katana Zero,” “Tales of Vesperia” and “The Sword of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse” on the Xbox Game Pass.

Fast-paced free-moving platformer “ScourgeBringer” will make its Game Pass debut on Oct. 21, while both “Cricket 19” and “Supraland” are set to appear a day later.

DLC updates for titles like “Black Desert,” “Destiny 2” and “Doom Eternal” will also be added throughout the month.

With less than a month left before the big debut of the Xbox Series X and the digital-only Xbox Series S, Microsoft aims to build on the numbers of the Game Pass service to both entice new gamers to purchase the new console and keep the audience they already have satisfied with the games that are at their fingertips.

Proof of that was the addition of the classic “Doom Eternal” just weeks ago and its rumored plans to somehow bring Game Pass to iOS devices by next year.

First released in 2005, “Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition” was developed by Ensemble Studios and portrays the European colonization of the Americas between 1492 and 1876.

Developed by Le Cartel Studio and published by Devolver Digital, “Heave Ho” was released last year and tasks up to four players to use their own to hands and the outstretched arms of their friends to grapple across each level they play.

Also published by Devolver Digital and released last year is “Katana Zero.” In this neo-noir action-platform video game set in the dystopic New Mecca, players are challenged by the lack of a health bar and the prospect of instant death looming over them constantly.

First released in 2008 and developed by Namco Tales Studio, “Tales of Vesperia” is set in the world of Terca Lumireis where former Imperial soldier Yuri Lowell forms a guild called Brave Vesperia to aid a noblewoman named Estelle.

Meanwhile, with “The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse,” players have a top-down perspective in an action role-playing game where they are tasked with defeating the creature known as Mormo within a certain amount of time.
