  • Microsoft has announced the latest lineup of free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers
  • This month includes the classic Xbox game "Conker: Live & Reloaded"
  • "Midway Arcade Origins" includes a large selection of classic arcade games

The newest set of free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers is available with three titles and a huge classic game compilation up for grabs.

For this month, players will get access to “Planet Alpha,” “Rock Of Ages 3,” Conker: Live & Reloaded” and “Midway Arcade Origins,” according to the official announcement from the Xbox website. The combined total value of all four games amounts to roughly $80, complemented by the rest of the benefits provided by a Live Gold subscription.

Microsoft has remained relatively consistent with its title selections for Games with Gold. Unlike Sony’s irresistible offers of free triple A games for PlayStation Plus, Games with Gold normally gives away old but highly-rated games for its subscribers.

“Planet Alpha” is a 2.5D action-adventure game made by Planet Alpha ApS and published by Team17. The game features beautiful and colorful environments in a side-scrolling adventure of mystery and discovery. “Planet Alpha” has also won a number of awards.

Meanwhile, “Rock Of Ages 3: Make & Break” combines humorous scriptwriting, tower defense and competitive racing into one charming and hilariously irreverent package.

Play as a sentient boulder and race against other players in an attempt to breach the opponent’s castle first. Smash through walls, weave through traps and flatten the opposing army’s lord while defending the friendly army’s territory with various base defenses.

“Conker: Live & Reloaded” makes a surprising appearance in this month’s subscription offer. The game was originally released for the first Xbox console and served as a remake of “Conker’s Bad Fur Day” for the Nintendo 64 back in 2001.

Players will take on the role of the eponymous Conker as he tries to return home after a night of heavy drinking in a no-holds-barred platforming adventure filled with adult jokes and crude humor.

The final game in this month’s list is actually a collection of numerous classic arcade games that have been made playable on the Xbox One. “Midway Arcade Origins” includes titles like “Smash TV,” “Vindicators II,” “Gauntlet” and many others, making this a must-have for vintage gamers and fans of old-school games.
